Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe is a British-Nigerian mixed race child, was born to a family in South London. Her father is Nigerian Swiss as is her mom who's English. She went to The Brit School when she was 14 years old. She earned her BA in acting from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. As a student at the academy, she appeared in numerous stage productions, such as King Henry V as Princess Katherine and Wuthering Heights as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career with a film titled Storm Damage. Since then Madekwe's appearance in Teachers as well as Doctors. Her breakthrough role came in 2007's Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream. It was in the role of Colin Farrell (who played the part of Cassandra) as well as Ewan McGrath. Following that success, she played Elisha in the single-episode BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN which aired in 2007 and she also appeared in six episodes of Trexx and Flipside playing Ollie. In 2008 she landed Bambi's part on the ITV2 Drama Series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was in both series 2 and 3. Madekwe starred in the 2008 Comedy film How to Lose Friends & Alienate People. Her credits in the theatre include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) and Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe's US debut was in 2009 with the drama The Beautiful Life. The show aired just two episodes before being removed from The CW. In February of 2011, she was cast in the role of Ashley Davenport in the ABC drama series Revenge. The show premiered in May 2013 and it was announced that Madekwe, who appeared on the show as a series regular for the two previous seasons, was to leave the series following a guest appearance in the first episode of the season's new episode. Between 2014 and 2016, she starred in Salem on the CW as Tituba. From June to July 2012, Madekwe was married to her long-time love actor Iddo Goldberg. In addition to Secret Diary of a Call Girl They have also collaborated together on Salem and also he played a part alongside her in the show on TV.
Ashley Leggat is a Gemini-nominated actress who was raised in an extended family. Her parents were Patty and Roy Leggat. Her parents, Roy and Patty along with the four brothers of her, Brett, Todd, and Bram who were also present. Ashley's sports brothers played baseball during summers and hockey during winters. Ashley did not have the ability to walk. She would dance. When she reached 2 and a 1/2 and a half, she was a part of Baby Ballet. Ashley discovered a love for dancing after she started Baby Ballet. After graduating from the high school she attended, Ashley danced competitively in the highest divisions of ballet, tap, jazz pointe, acrobatics musical theatre, lyrical and hip-hop. Additionally, she was awarded top soloists awards in all major dance contests, like the International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, among others.
